How it works

  1. Write one email

With merge tags like {{First Name}}.

  2. Pick a Google Sheet

A sheet of recipients. Any column can be a merge tag.

  3. Each person gets their own copy

Sent from your Gmail account, one at a time. Not a BCC blast.

Slow on purpose

Merge X sends about 10 emails a minute, with random gaps between them. A daily cap stays below Gmail's own limit. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

The help page explains the limits

We can send, never read

We can send email for you. We can't read your inbox or your drafts, and we only open the sheets you choose.

See the exact Google permissions

Your data is yours

We use your data only to run the features you use. No ads, no selling, no AI training.

The privacy policy explains what we keep

Free. No card needed.

Emails include a short "Sent with Merge X" footer, which you can turn off in settings. There are no ads.

The free plans of the other mail merge tools we checked allow 50 emails a day or fewer.

Questions

More answers on the help page

What happens in my first week?

For your first 7 days on Merge X, you can send up to 100 emails a day, so a list of 300 people takes 3 days. After that, the limits above apply.

Can I send from my own domain?

Yes, if the address is set up in Gmail's "Send mail as". Google has announced that from January 2027, Gmail will stop supporting this for some outside addresses. The help page explains how to set it up.

Will it stay free?

Merge X is free, with no card. When Merge X opens, you can delete your account or download your data whenever you like, so you're never stuck with us.

What isn't in the first version?

Open and click tracking, and automatic follow-ups. They are planned for a later version, with no date yet.
